The King of Savoy once ruled over all of the Piedmont, most of Liguria and the mountains that separate Italy and France. This tour will allow you to stroll in the meadows of the majestic Maritime Alps, dabble your toes in the waters of the Mediterranean and sample the incredible wines of Barbaresco and Barolo.

We will explore the cross pollination of these very diverse cultures and cuisines. Three very different languages are spoken in an area separated by less than 50 miles. Piemontese - Genovese - Occitone

Men on horseback and donkey would travel across mountain passes from Liguria to Piemonte to bring olives, spices, anchovies and return with cheese, red wine and salami.

We will meet winemakers and chefs dine in restaurants that offer the best of each regions offerings.

Wine Country (Piemontese)
The wine country of the Piedmont with it's majestic beauty and incredible wines. We will visit the villages Barolo, Barbaresco and taste the difference in the terroir of the Piedmont.

Mountains (Occitone)
In the spring cows begin their migration from their winter home in the valley to their summer home in the high mountain pastures eating herbs and flowers along the way. We will taste the cheeses of the mountains that change from one valley to the next.

Sea (Genovese)
We will taste and compare Ligurian olive oil, learn the secret of Genovese Pesto and taste focaccia and farinata right from the oven.
